22. Corpse Reviver No.2

Welcome back to the Land of the Living (Dead)

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is a classic drink dating back to a pre-Prohibition era where cocktails were specifically created and consumed to “rouse the drinker from the dead.” In today’s terms, you’d call a Corpse Reviver cocktail “hair of the dog.” Corpse Reviver No. 1 uses cognac, Calvados, and sweet vermouth, but it’s No. 2 that we see most on modern menus. May it bolster your spirits after an evening of debauchery and mayhem.

22. Corpse Revivier no. 2

Ingredients

1 dash absinthe, to rinse
3/4 oz. London dry gin
3/4 oz. Lillet blanc
3/4 oz. orange liqueur
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice

Method

  • Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe glass with absinthe.

  • Add the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.

  • Strain into the prepared glass.

  • Try to not let any rotten flesh fall in.
