No one lives forever
This classic cocktail was made popular in the 1940’s at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop, a historical bar still in operation in New Orleans. It’s basically an absinthe-laced martini, but it became a cultural icon nonetheless. Unlike other cocktails that have their moment in the sun then disappear, the Obituary will never have its namesake written about it.
