5. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Old Fashioned
Because baked goods make for fantastic seasonal cocktail inspiration
There’s a number of banana bread cocktail recipes floating around this time of year, but the ones I gravitate toward have rich, realistic banana flavor—often thanks to Tempus Fugit’s Crème de Banane Liqueur.
Tempus Fugit Spirits is a leader in accurately reproducing pre-prohibition era flavors, and their banana liqueur is exquisite. It smells like fresh-baked banana bread, and it tastes as close to a real banana as you can get. Not too sweet, no hints of artificial, candy-like banana flavoring—just earthy, ripe banana.
Pairing it with a few droppers of Portland Bitters Project Dark Cacao Bitters and a dash of walnut bitters gives this easy old fashioned a home-baked flavor that’s as delightful to sip as warm chocolate chip banana bread is to eat.
